Making History: Antiquaries in Britain 1707-2007 explores the work and achievement of the Fellowship of the Society of Antiquaries of London from its foundation in the early eighteenth century to the present day.

The exhibition will feature milestones in the discovery, recording, interpretation, preservation and communication of Britain’s past through its material remains.

It will contrast beliefs about the past before the Society was founded with new ideas, discoveries and technology that have, over the past three hundred years, transformed our understanding of golobal history.
